How do you look at this picture and try to use it to prove Venusaur doesn't look like a Toad? Venusaur doesn't have a tail, either, so which you seem to think it does, and some toads to indeed have teeth, so you're also down another point. Just give it up, frogs and toads are it's primary inspiration and Venusaur is a beautiful and cute design.
Well, cute in that bulldog-ish sort of way.
