So much goodwill had been built up over the years since Gen 4. It could be understandable that most of us fell for the trickery, what with the allure of Megas, Fairy as a new type and the first true foray into 3D visuals. But yeah I would agree that past that, if you bought anything else you are complicit in the current state of this franchise.
I remember seeing Sun and Moon turning out to be trash a mile away, but the /vp/ degenerates were blind to this because all they cared about were the waifus and waifumons. Funny how thinking with your dick as opposed with your brain can cause illogical reactions to certain things. They refused to acknowledge the shitty cutscenes, the routes, the mon distribution and the handholding nature just because a female lizard gave them bedroom eyes. And then the Ultra versions came out mere months later with the SAME content and story structure and they STILL bought it. You guys like to pretend you are a notch above casual normalfags but you're really not. You're all the same Pokemon addicted fucks as the rest of them, you don't care about wquality games you just like consuming the "idea" of Pokemon. It's been this way since Gen 6 at least. New games come out, they are obviously shaping up to be shit, but you draw oodles of fan arts of the new trainers and new Pokemon designs. It's a terrible cult mentality to have. I'm actually proud of /vp/ for actually having the balls to critique a shitty gen right out the gate for once but its for the most petty of reasons (National Dex cut oh noes!!!
