>>47809077In my first two Elite Four battles with Shauntal and Caitlyn, I use the same strategy I've been doing in almost every gym battle: leading with Audino to set up and switching to my sweeper of choice. The only difference this time around is that all of my Pokemon have Substitute for extra protection. My sweeper of choice for Shauntal is Auld Yeller, who sets up with Work Up, and for Caitlyn I used Anansi, who sets up with Charge Beam.
The next two Elite Four members, Grimsley and Marshall, lead with Fighting type Pokemon. I do some calcs and learn that Audino can take some hits, so I send it in first to T-Wave, Flash, and Reflect, but this time around, I keep switching with Auld Yeller for the Intimidate debuff. After all that's done, I switch to the designated sweeper. For Grimsley, that's Sun Tzu and Sittard. For Marshall, that's Quadrophenia...or at least it was supposed to be. Throh hits like a fucking truck, even with Reflect up. I switch into Auld Yeller for the Intimidate debuff, but the poor dog loses half of its health in the process. I take out the Throh with Quadrophenia, but then comes the Sawk. This thing has Sturdy, so it can't be taken out in one hit. Thankfully, it will go for a pitifully weak Grass Knot on Quadrophenia, so I use the opportunity to game the AI and switch to Auld for Intimidate. For some reason, the AI goes for Karate Chop instead, but it doesn't kill Auld.
I eventually end up in a position where Sun Tzu is in front of the Sawk after setting up 3 Work Ups. The Sawk is at 1 HP and Marshall has already healed. For some reason I think I outspeed Sawk, so I say fuck it and go for a Substitute. It turns out that the Sawk is faster than me and goes for Stone Edge, but it fucking misses. Thank you RNGJesus. Sawk attacks again with Karate Chop, but it doesn't break the sub, which allows me to sweep the rest of Marshall's team and thus defeat the Elite Four without any losses.
