One of them watches the entirety of the anime even though the only mainline game he played was emulated Sapphire, the other one just plays GO to a paypig/whale degree. Both are the type to go out with Pokémon merch in public and they bring up the mainline games on convos with me whenever they're mentioned on a Nintendo Direct instead of a Pokémon Presents.
These type of people are somehow weirder than the diehard mainline fans I know. Talking about Pokémon with them is difficult because they get all their opinions from PokéTubers and Game Theory. I've heard so many weird statements like "Yveltal is the strongest Pokémon because he's the god of death", "Lugia and Ho-Oh come from the same parent" or "Mew gave birth to Arceus", when in reality the mainline (canonest form of Pokémon) simply does not roll like that.
