Even if you ignore the dexit and ignore the bricking and ignore the poor graphics, only considering the core gameplay experience, it's bad.
Not only is it incredibly slow (I literally was begging the game to let me battle during parts of the story), but it just doesn't do anything to get the player invested.
If you found ORAS or SM too heavy on boring cutscenes, SwSh goes even further with this shit.
In terms of gimicks there's really only dynamax which is less of a "strategic element" than even Z-moves or megas, it literally just boosts your health bar for 3 turns and lets you use moves that are essentially the same but with higher power and sometimes different effects.
Most of the time these moves are too similar to the base moves though so it doesn't really add anything.
The open world is a decent idea but it's way too bare-bones to be that important. At the end of the day it's just a way to run around looking for wild pokemon like we've always done, just now you're not running along a straight line of a route.
Even ignoring all the controversies and technical issues, I honestly think this is the worst mainline game by a huge margin.
