>>48040628>I don't know what this means.I thought we talked about this before? If you want though, I can list some examples. First, let's define pacing in a more general narrative sense.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pace_(narrative)>In literature, pace, or pacing is the speed at which a story is told—not necessarily the speed at which the story takes place. In video games, this usually refers to how different parts of the game flow into each-other. For example, Chrono Trigger is considered by many to be an incredibly well paced game, and I can even prove this statistically.
http://thegamedesignforum.com/features/reverse_design_CT_4.htmlI recommend giving that whole series a read though, it's a great read and really explains the feelings I got while playing Chrono Trigger in a way that I also understand because I like numbers.
>If anything I think Gen 6 has better pacing because the gyms aren't literally placed one after the other. But, as you note in that image, the midgame from getting Megas to the fairy gym goes by much more quickly than the rest of the game. Not to mention, if we use the Pokedex as a simple metric, about half or so of the game is spent in the Mountain Pokedex, which has about as many Pokemon available in it as before the second gym. Like I said, I'm sensitive to weird shit like that, and given what other people have said before it's not exactly an uncommon feeling.
>It'll still be just Gen 5 but better. But better in what way? All you've done is say why you like Gen 6. Like all I've been saying is what I like about Gen 5. There's almost no objective metric by which Gen 6 is better, and in a few objective metrics it could be considered worse. It's not any better, it's just different.
