GF could remove catching and let you pick teams from a list and they'd be applauded for a bold interesting new move They don't think about the effect on the game as a whole.
Most customers want a quick experience they can blow through in a weekend while jerking off about their childhood. They don't see the value in the series. And it will sell 10 million+ easy.
