Sharing problems =/= As bad, specially when they do not share all of the same problems, just some of them
I see what you are saying, but XY is considered worse than BW by many more reasons, like
- Difficulty: XY is so easy that it gets insulting, even with the Exp Share off. The exp system is also stupid, giving 100% of the exp to all the pokemon in battle, instead of sharing it between the battlers, which breaks the game unless you never change of Pokemon during battle.
XY is stupidly hand holdy. I know every Pokemon game is linear to an extent of "Don't go here until we want you to go here", with the only exception being RBY midgame
But XY gets too much. Like, remember Route 7 (Snorlax)? That was fucking torture
XY is also terribly bad paced, specially compared to BW's pacing, which in my opinion is one of the best out there. The story is pretty bad, once again, compared to BW which is actually one of the few Pokemon games that really pushes its story without wanting me to kill myself (like USUM)
I could go on in the design of the region, and Pokemon distribution, but one is extremely subjective, and the other is kind of complicated to explain
