Don't think people actually hate him, but certainly not many actually give a single fuck about Golduck, or think he is weak/ugly/not as memorable as Psyduck (pretty much Pikachu - Raichu situation on a smaller scale). I liked him ever since the episode where he was a total bro to Misty, and try to use in my party whenever possible.
