New Mewtwo artwork for Mewtwo Strikes back is a bit deceptive.
I WANT to agree that this means something, but Movie 3 is the only one that really sold me on it. Mewtwo's storm is a plot device and show of strength, and his ruling or dismantling the world order was distant threat that you knew was not going to materialize on screen. Lugia wanted to be the "save the world" movie that Mewtwo was not oh so badly, but it was an artifact gathering fetch quest that for all its vaunted scope couldn't get me to care. With Entei at least it ties into the bigger story that so long as this girl is not placated or rescued, this is going to keep getting rapidly worse. If a smaller scale threat is more likely to keep your interest (Deoxys kidnapping people for no reason was a cool one), than point goes to it. (This isn't a backhanded attempt to heap any more praise on the third movie than it already gets here, honest).
