If there is a loud minority that demands her to be in the games and Game Freak kowtows to that, then yes, it's safe to say that waifufags have started killing Pokemon. More so if GF makes another waste of space waifu character in gen VIII.
Personally, I don't know why people adore her. I've known a few girls that acted as helpless and dependent as her, and they were always a hassle to deal with.
