>>55004464>why would independent adult Pokemon choose a human loser over another cute pokemon of its -- or other -- species that probably has proven itself in battle?Because a human provides them with safety, shelter, food, healthcare, peace of mind, entertainment, personal growth and development (battling, contests etc) and of course healthy Pokémon children able to grow in a stable, safe environment. And if we relate sex to how it works in real life, then 99% of male Pokémon will never last over 20 seconds in bed.
What does another Pokémon offer? While anthropophiles reap the benefits above, wild ones live innawoods with no roof over their heads, battle over territories and food, their diets consist of shit-stained berries (if there aren't any gluttonous species about, driving them to dying from hunger), their entire entertainment is watching other species battle and basically there's nothing of worth going on in their entire lives and most definitely no hope for the future, bar getting caught by a human.
It was established very early that wild Pokémon are jealous of those who have trainers and often it's the reason they attack in the first place.
Better question would be, what does another Pokémon offer that can even remotely compare?
And cuteness is subjective. The same way humans can consider Pokémon cuter than other humans, so can be the opposite case.
