>>54515757If you have never read it, "PMD: Victory Fire" is a must read for any respectable PMD fan.
Be prepared, it's unfinished and there hasn't been a new page for several years.
Here are some other great fics I've read recently:
> PMD: Altered Bondshttps://archiveofourown.org/works/32064196> A Lucario and a human girl are washed up in an unknown location after surviving a shipwreck.> The fact that the girl is a human turns out to be quite a problem as most of the locals will screech in horror and try to kill her upon seeing what is clearly one of the cursed creatures of legend.> Fortunately, a freaky looking Eevee offers a solution.Features some of my favorite descriptions of a human-turned-pokémon discovering their new powers and learning the pokémon language.
The way mystery dungeons are described is also really great, turning what is typically just game mechanics into something not that far from eldritch horror.
> Citrine Isleshttps://archiveofourown.org/works/45299356> Ash, Misty, Brock and their pokémon are washed up in PMD land with the humans turned into pokémon.> Hijinx ensue as they try to find a way to return to their own world all the while the former humans gradually start behaving more and more like natural pokémon.Fun mix of anime, mainline and PMD settings.
Lots of early anime style fun with some pretty serious undertones.
> Lost Togetherhttps://archiveofourown.org/works/13600302> "She should have never lived this long. She was a human at heart; not a Ninetales, not even a Vulpix. She belonged back then, she had been meant to die alongside them."> Ninetales PMD2 hero outlives her partner by several lifetimes.> Old feelings and memories resurface as she stumbles upon an amnesiac Drakrai.Really sad and heartfelt. The whole "outliving your loved ones by hundreds of years" aspect really got to me.
I'm surprised you don't see this aspect explored more often considering vulpix/ninetales heroes are relatively common.
