7.5/10. Coming out of Dewott, execution won't likely meet expectations, but is still a solid design on it's own merit. Facial hair gives it vibes of a nobleman and wisdom. From a franchise of monsters, it looks like a unqie creature for being a monstrous sea mammal with claws as fingers and a uniquely shaped tail. Despite being quadrupdal, the swords are just massive shells which makes them serve more than one purpose. The defensive functionality of the swords tends to largely ignored for some reason, as despite Samurott having higher special attack, its still adept at using it's weapons as a defense mechanism. I feel it's swordsmanship would really shine in the water as using your forelimbs as sword pockets would make more sense there. I feel people who put too much emphasis on land based swordsmanship would be severly disappointed, but I judge a design's quality based on their thematic background, not by personal desires. If Samurott was designed to be anthropomorphic in structure though, it would appeal to people who prefer amphibious designs.
