I still do, though, and I'm enjoying it more now that I'm closer to 30 than when I was 20 and took myself too seriously. Although I write OCs as main characters instead of the more usual shipping fics.
The premise follows two trainers (boy and girl) that are just regular trainers instead of battle gifted geniuses or richfags chosen by the Professor, so they struggle with regular things like affording supplies or just getting to next town. Girl is an aspiring archeologist and boy is a con-artist type (kinda like Saul Goodman), so plots usually revolve around basic ideas getting out of control in a reasonable way just so they can get funds for their next adventure (like starting a berry farm and selling to competitivefags)
I try to make it as friendly and lighthearted as the anime, so no shipping or edge. I also poke fun at things from the games without having them look at the camera and going full Rick Sanchez. Also I try to focus more on the Pokémon as a MOTW thing and avoid battles whenever possible as those are often boring
I did make a MD spin-off of that but never finished. It was basically a 2001 storyline with a rogue Rotom and a big spaceship
