"Gastrodon Should Be Banned!"
Okay so he might not look too amazing but he does have good HP and decent defenses. The reason why I think Gastrodon should be banned, lies in the use of his ability Storm Drain. It's doesn't even matter that with Sand Force on a Sand team Gastrodon would do more damage then every single Pokemon out there. Really, I'm more concerned with it's Storm Drain ability. Why? Because Storm Drain allows Gastrodon to absorb Water type attacks like Hydro Pump and scald from everything else on the field! It's already bulkier then most everything out there, even without a defense enhancing nature. so what's wrong with that may you ask me? Well, the thing that's wrong with this is you have a Gastrodon who can set up all kinds of crazy stat ups before everything else on the field no matter what! Scald, Ice Beam, Toxic and Recover and you have yourselves a Pokemon who can take attacks like they're nothing while at the same time toxic stalling you to death. This Pokemon can stall for hours! Trust me I've seen it. (Okay so it can's stall for hours but I've seen it stall for more then 30 minutes of a battle)
This is worse then anything Speed Boost Blaziken can pull because Speed Boost Blzaiken is going to be slower then some Pokemon on the field at first before it has a chance to set up. Blaziken's defenses are pretty low anyways so a good STAB super-effective move can down him. And even then, if Speed Boost Blaziken is running HJK he might actually kill himself off if he misses because it isn't the most accurate of moves. If Smogen can ban Blaziken because he is deemed too overpowered then they can ban Gastrodon.
