>>13975974That's a good thing to notice. I'm not saying this fake image is legitimate by any means, but there are a few pieces of Sugimori's official art that have tiny errors here and there. I wish I could find them all and point them out, but I'm not going through everything right now. They're pretty much only visible in the large high-quality versions of the art that's normally only released in press releases.
Most of the errors I've noticed have been Sugimori forgetting to color in a small (1-5) clusters of pixels in areas that are "tucked away" in an area where two black outlines overlap and leave a small area of white that needed to be colored in. (If you don't get what I mean, think of a V. At the bottom of the V there could be white pixels that are "cut off" from the opening by the lines that make up the V - this happens because of the outline's pixels not being completely straight, as Sugimori's outlines are hand-drawn and have slight variations to their width.)
I seem to recall errors worse than those (still relatively minor, but more noticeable) but I can't think of them right now. The attached Mega Mewtwo X image has an issue where the shading on the knee to the left (its right leg) goes outside the outline and onto the white background, which I've never seen him do before. It's not something that would show up on a transparent background as it would probably be erased, but it's odd to see it there.
Granted these errors aren't as bad as the one in the OP, but they're still things you'd think a professional would notice before sending off the work as "complete".
