>>40864315They weren't even fucking creative with it. It's as bland as you can get.
When it was introduced, it was like looking at a list of files on an a computer, which had sub-texts and prompts as you tried to do specific things.
Then, it became a newer age-computer with desktop backgrounds, a 'mouse', and drop down commands - and was refined until Let's Go, with the only major updates being subtle design changes, which would be akin to newer computer models also having more sleek designs in their UI, but still relatively unchanged.
Then Let's Go happened, which just mimicked what Go was doing, but worse - especially since they both were created for different circumstances anyway. This is just an extension of that.
They could have done something interesting, creating a new Box Format, similar to that of a Smart Phone or Smart Tablet OS. A big list of all your boxes, but each one looks like an APP, with customizable icons and names - and when each Box loads, it can have it's own background you can change. Fuck, go the whole gambit and just have the whole pause menu be a Smart Phone Pokedex at this point, and even make it tongue-and-cheek with customization colors and cases you can unlock through-out the game - Do something creative! Not this bare minimum, minimalist-to-the-point-of-laziness design.
