His ace is Leavanny, at level 23. Already I choose to level it up to 25, since Lenora's is level 20, only 5 levels below, when the game has a huge forest area, and a side area below and before the forest itself.
It doesn't gain any moves by level up until level 29, so the moveset isn't gonna change there. No, I will have it learn one (1) tm move, in Energy Ball. It will replace Razor Leaf, and a move it can learn earlier on is Bug Bite. That will replace String Shot. I won't give it an item, because it is only the third gym.
The other two pokemon on the team are Whirlipede, and Dwebble. They are both level 21, but that's only 1 level above Lenora's ace, so it won't be enough of a challenge. I don't want to overwhelm the player, so making Whirlipede level 22 and Dwebble level 23 will be a nice compromise.
Dwebble won't have much change in the moveset, as it already has sand attack and faint attack, both moves well used on a level 23 pokemon.
Whirlipede however, is a different story. Not only did I raise it just barely enough to be a legitimate whirlipede, evolving at level 22, but I changed Screech for Rollout, a move it can use well to counter fire types.
