Pokeballs are used by trainers mostly so they can have a whole bunch of them in their journeys and make it possible to use the PCbox and Pokemon center facilities and there are plenty of non trainers and kids living alongside pokemon.
Just befriend one the old fashioned way, thereby removing any of that ridiculous statutory "rape" implications if it goes that way.
