catching pokemon actually made sense in the old regions you felt like you were out in nature and depending on where you were the wildlife reflected what you catch. i know people have shit on "GEN 2 HAD SO MANY RATTATATS EVERY ROUTE WAS PIDGEYS OR DIGLETTS BLAH BLAH" but they don't understand that was part of the brilliance behind the old gems.
