If you're looking at all of those sketchy lines at the base of the head then the cleaned up sketch is accurate to the topmost line, which curves around to meet the line on the side of the head. Of course, if it was the artist's intention that the head shape should follow the bottom sketchy line, then the clean art doesn't match up.
To me it looks like the snout here matches pretty much exactly with the sketch, and the legs do too aside from the front right (our left).
For the scales, if you're concerned they don't look separate enough that could easily be fixed with some small lines. Though I'd argue the sketch is just as guilty of not making each scale look detached from each other, many of the scales in that area don't even look drawn fully.
That's the issue with letting that sole sketchy image be everything Diloweed's art now has to be based off of, there's too many question marks. Which to me, taking into account what's going on in this .gif, again, I think the cleaned up version more than clears up reasonably well.
