I just beat Wattson, but I really underestimated him. I accidentally sent out Softpaw first (rather than Combusken), which didn't turn out too badly. I had Combusken hold a Cheri Berry, so I was able to set up an X Attack in the meantime.
Combusken took out Magnemite with a Double Kick. At this point, I only had 1 Ember and 1 DKick left. Voltorb outsped me with spark, leaving Combusken with about 4 HP. I used ember, which took it down to about 1/4.
Surprisingly, Wattson didn't heal. I used a Super Potion and he used spark. With no more Embers, I used an Ether on DKick, and Voltorb used Selfdestruct. Holy shit, I didn't even know it had that move. I couldn't believe it, but Combusken survived with about 6 HP. D-Kicked Magneton, and now I've got my badge.
My team's in pretty bad shape (Goblin and Scamp are out of attacks, and Softpaw has yet to learn Spark), but I know that there's a house healer coming up soon. I think I can last till then with my supplies.
