>>57242523>a moralistic finger-wagging typeTo be fair, a lot of people (especially young ones who are easily influenced by peers) probably just bow down to this mentality because of the current internet climate in these kinda fandoms.
We're in another age of neo puritanism, where even fictional media has to adhere to strict morals, or else its abhorrent and immoral and you're a vile person for enjoying it.
I think it's because there's a lot of people online who seek validation from strangers on the internet (or fear judgement from them), because they don't get any IRL. And maybe that's why people are virtue signaling SO hard that they want strangers to have no doubts that they are "good people" who do good things and can't be shunned. And you really don't want to be shunned, cause that could end with a whole mob of people harassing you into deleting your account or whatever. All it takes is catching the attention of a group of self-righteous buttbuddies who have nothing better to do than bully random strangers and jerk each other off because they are such good and moral people who fight the evil, immoral internet people. Hell, I've seen people getting doxxed by those kinda fanatics because they liked a possibly(!!!) underage character romantically. So, I'm sure there is a lot of authors and readers out there who would actually love certain content with "underage" characters like Kieran, but feel pressured into pretending to be another moralistic finger-wagging type to avoid repercussions from their peers. In fact I KNOW there's Kiki fans out there who can't be outspoken about their love for him because of that. And it makes me fucking sad. I wish people could just enjoy the fictional things they love. There is literally no harm in it.Anyway, sorry for the rant. I'm just glad we have these threads at least. Have a Kiki.
