There's a big difference between Kanto Route 7 and Kalos Route 1, aside from the fact that it has grass. That is the fact that it is a LATER GAME route, AFTER the first impression. First impressions matter a lot, and Kalos Route 1 provides one of the worst first impressions to routes. You cannot change this fact no matter how hard you try.
