Been having a lot of fun with an Onix in a pearl playthrough I've been doing. By playthrough standards the monster defense makes it untouchable to physical attackers and 70 speed is enough to outspeed most of what I encounter if I have a level advantage, aside from the really fast mons, so I can usually get something out in one turn when I send it out before it gets deleted by a single absorb.
The best part is I didn't have a good answer to water types on my team (especially faggot Gyarados) until I bothered to find out that my particular Onix has an electric hidden power, so now I'm just fucking up every water type I see with my damn Onix' 30spa hidden power. It's pretty nifty.
Not gonna evolve it I already love it the way it is.
