Nate is a fucking dunce. But he's a good guy, and a quality trainer, even if he's never be on the level of Red, Ethan or Hilbert. He's a lot more pro-active about good doing then the others a well, to the degree that his adventure was about stopping Team Plasma, not challenging the league, unlike the others (barring post dragon Hilbert). His stupidity does get him into trouble (and explains his terrible outfit), but his pokemon look after him most of the time. Since the Kyurem situation was resolved he's been scouted by talent agents for Pokewood studios...
Rosa is a bit of a dilettante, hoping from one interest to another, picking up and discarding fads as quick as they come. She's been into battling, breeding, musicals, and if she travels its likely contests and the pokeathlon will join the list. She's also got a bit of a temper, though it comes and goes in a flash.
