>>44846065I'm only mentioning the facts, PMD's Universe is separate from the Anime universe which is separate from the Main video games universe which is separate from the Manga Universe (Which in itself has separate canons). Each canon is different unless otherwise explicitly stated or referenced to be together.
Pokemon should always be smart and thinking for themselves, the problem is in most of the anime and main series video games depictions of them they lack showing this to people on the regular. I don't have any issue with people wanting to have relationships with them because by all accounts of logic it should be fine, its just in its most common portail Pokemon are treated like and seen more as non-talking smarter pets.
Their common deception is the problem, like why don't more Pokemon learn how to talk? If they are so smart (some of them don't even fight!) why aren't they more active in the world's actions and society? Why have we never seen if Pokemon have things like rights? How is it that there are so many questions and mysteries surrounding Pokemon when simply asking them questions would solve them in an instant, because they can all learn how to talk?! The Universe treat's them differently from how they treat Humans (Also again, they look very different from us), and it causes people to look at them lesser because of that, not to mention all these plot holes.
