I released my starter because I haven't done a Nuzlocke without a starter in a while and wanted to change it up (it was Oshawott).
My first two encounters were a pair of level 4 male Patrats, so I decided that they were brothers and began brainstorming. Seeing as they both had similar natures (Naughty/Likes to Run and Lonely/Thoroughly Cunning) I thought that they'd be a pair of NYC-style conmen constantly on the run. Their next destination was probably Driftveil city, since that's where all the rich miners lived, and the two had been stuck in Nuvema due to a freak flood that took them there from Route 17.
Goggles was the initial MVP, guiding his younger brother through roads only he'd been down, working mostly alone even up to the Dreamyard. While there the pair reluctantly picked up Mittens just to have a chance against Cilan's team, who'd spotted them doing shady shit with Dusk Ball Guy, and was about to call the police. Goggles convinced the gym leader team that they should just fight it out instead, and after Cilan's Pansage agreed the three went to train.
During this training, Goggles got into a grudge match with an old Patrat from his pack, and went down from a crit after taunting it one time too many, prompting Snorkel to rush to the PC.
Unfortunately, he couldn't save Goggles, and upon exiting the center he was greeted with Cheren's Snivy, who'd *also* seen the pair doing dumb shit and challenged them to a battle because the snake found their activities personally offensive due to how "dishonorable" they were. Snorkel accepted without thinking, and had nearly won the thing when Snivy struck him down with a Vine Whip. Mittens finished the fight, but-
