Greetings to all Pokémon Trainers, my name is CHAMPION LANCE, and I am the single Greatest Pokémon Master the entire world has ever seen.
Now, I am certain that many people would like to dispute this claim. "I beat you in one battle," "this guy beat you more times than you beat him," "that guy went 165-0 on some ladder," "X guy got 98.8% GXE on another ladder," "Y guy went 9-0 in SPL," "Z guy became VGC World Champion three times in a row," etc, etc, are some of the statements that people like to throw around in order to claim that I'm not the best at Pokémon.
But good grief. Using these arguments to say that I'm not the best at Pokémon is like trying to argue that the Sun isn't the biggest object in the Solar System... by pointing out the fact that Mt. Everest is massive. Yes, Mt. Everest is indeed massive, but so the hell what? These guys have no sense of scale, do they? Speaking of scale, let's put everything regarding my position as the Greatest Pokémon Master into perspective, shall we?
I began my online Pokémon battling career when I downloaded Pokémon NetBattle in December 2003. Within the first half of 2004, I had already achieved a win-loss record of 200-10 on three different Pokémon NetBattle servers—including Blue Heaven, the most popular Pokémon NetBattle server at the time—and I had also achieved a win-loss record of 384-17 on the Battledome server. But of course, as far as my achievements in Pokémon battling are concerned, that's nothing more than the tip of the iceberg, so keep reading.
