>>39382601They definitely haven't recreated the old Pokemon models. They're using the exact same mesh models for the old people that they've been using since X/Y.
For anyone who does 3D Modelling it's very easy to tell from the released pictures and video and by studying the outlines of the Pokemons meshes, because all the vertices and polygons align perfectly with the mesh models from Sun/Moon. This would be an almost impossible and utterly pointless task if the models had been recreated from scratch. Sure the models might look extremely similar, but there's absolutely no reason that the vertices would line up perfectly.
Basically a 3D model is made up of vertices, which are basically points in 3D space. When you connect two vertices together they create an edge, and when you connect 3 or more they create a face. This is a basic Polygon.
Now for the vertices to all align absolutely perfectly they would have to intricately study the old models from all angles and have to use eye alone to match them up. Like I said, this would be virtually impossible to do, due to how painful a process it would be and would make absolutely no sense what so ever.
>>39382968 TThis is also true. Game Freak no doubt have all the original model files. Why wouldn't they? The models themselves are made in 3D Software such as Maya/3Ds Max and could easily be accessed and converted to any commonly used model format.
