RNG abuse may be easier than actually hunting, but at least it requires some level of effort, given the time investment and the chances for failure, meaning it still feels rewarding when you finally pull it off and get the shiny/stats you want. Plus full-odds hunting in gen 3/4 sucks ass, I've already done it once and that's enough time wasted for me.
