The reason why it looks like this is because more than likely, the Switch and Hacker’s Memory ruined the original games. Let me explain.
Last year, Namco announced a new Digimon game that will not be on Vita because they felt like they have done all they could on Vita. Which is true. The Vita was holding back the glorious PS4 version. The Cyber Slueth games never reached their full potential because of that shitty handheld. This let’s us know that Namco, from the start, planned a full powered Digimon game. All great yeah? Wrong.
Hacker’s memory came and flop. Fuck. Back to the drawing board. It was then, the original power resource heavy game was dropped. This new Survive shit was thrown out in a rush too. Think about it. This game is a visual novel with a Disgaea-esque battle system. The very definition of low effort. Habu and the gang also couldn’t go all out because they were probably forced to make a Switch version too (a console barely more powerful than the PS3 and 360 might I add)
I have to say I’m very disappointed. Neither monster game will be catching my interest and I feel as if we, the true Digimon fans, should be catered to the most. I want a Cyber Sleuth game that looks breathtaking but I know that will never happen now. Fuck. Video games have been so disappointing lately.
