I've been looking in emerald. I have 20 repels so I basically start the game, look for shiny ralts on route 102 until I run out of repels, then soft reset. I just learned about emerald's issue of having a fixed seed for rng. Is it that something I should be concerned about?

I'd take the romance with a Shiny Female Gardevoir over Cynthia. Gardevoirs get badass magic powers and can translate all the Pokemon we meet, Cynthia's just a regular woman.
