Say what you will of LGPE, but some things about it are absolutely amazing.

I've never seen so many people go crazy over the features of a Pokemon game like LGPE. Master Trainers. Pokemon being visible from the overworld, especially wild Pokemon, so you know exactly what Pokemon the game generates instead of going through patches of grass without knowing. The capture combo system. Rare Pokemon such as legendaries and starters being available in the wild. Red, Blue, and Green make an appearance. Gym leader battles and rematches. The best TM selection of any Pokemon game. Integration with GO for added rewards in both games. Getting rid of those pesky and repetitive wild battles and just getting straight to the capturing. Getting rid of EVs and giving players more creative control over how to raise their Pokemon. Making some egg moves available via move reminder. Allowing players to make their Pokemon stronger without spending hours upon hours grinding. Allowing players to change their Pokemon parties and nicknames without going to a special building. And customizing your actual Pokemon, albeit just Pikachu and Eevee for now, so they can look like you.
/vp/ was wrong yet again. LGPE got rid of the unnecessary clutter and added features we would all enjoy in Gen 8.
