>>56093997Gen5 has become extremely overrated and it doesn't even deserve it.
N and QoLs like infinite TMs are among its few redeeming qualities.
Unova is a boring region, the OST isn't even that memorable minus a few pieces like Emotion (XY soundtrack is SO MUCH better), the rivals are extremely annoying and the ones that initiate the issue of key characters stopping you every few steps to force you to continue the plot and try SO HARD to seem like they are interesting characters but they are in fact just annoying, overdone tropes and I hate how badly the game begs you to see them as your best pals. No they aren't, they're insufferable.
The game is filled to the brim with walls of text every time they force you to witness pieces of the plot, and often times what they say is extremely redundant anyway and everyone seems to take themselves way too seriously.
The walls of text problem is made worse by the lack of proper cutscenes that can at least distract your eyes a little instead of having to go through lines over lines of crowded text boxes.
The overworld NPCs look a little weird and I personally prefer the Gen4 pixel art style especially when it comes to overworld human characters.
Design-wise, many Gen5 Pokemon aren't solid enough to make you forget about the previous 4 generations, and the parallels between some of them and KANTOOO Pokemon just makes the fact that old mons are locked behind post-game all the more frustrating.
XY is sadly rushed, but its aesthetic, art style, OST, Dex and plot premise (albeit poorly executed) is far more interesting than BW's, and Kalos is so much more beautiful than Unova, albeit emptier.
It's funny how N, an undoubtedly great character, somehow manages to carry the game so well that most people get excited enough about his involvement in the plot to forget all of the other garbage-y traits of BW.
Either way, Ghetsis is just a better explored, drama queen and verbose version of Giovanni.
