Bear with me, OP.
At a glance, it's easy to justify cutting content by saying that you're going to put more in elsewhere or that you're going to use that development time to refine other areas of the game. When you say it like that, of course, it makes sense that you would cut down on the number of Pokemon in the game. Because it's like you're saying that the time spent with the Pokemon that made it in will be much more meaningful.
But that isn't the case with Sword and Shield. At least not from what I've observed. On the whole, the game does not look nearly as good as Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee, which I found to be very pretty. I also really enjoyed riding on my own Pokemon in that game. I've seen Falinks follow you in SwSh and it doesn't look good. Is it really excusable for Falinks to not be able to go down some stairs in a believable manner in a game with today's tech? Produced by the people responsible for Pokemon, one of, if not the most profitable pieces of entertainment media in the modern era? Without even factoring in the DexCut?? Okay, now factor it in, then answer again.
