>>54660537It's true whether you like it or not. Alain is well-written, and the writers have never done something unrealistic with him. Unlike your chuuni OC, the writers never gave Alain an undeserved powerup or provided him with an asspull victory. He's earned everything that's happened to him.
Yes, this even includes his losses. Alain is well written. He's a strong trainer. But there's "strong", and then there's "world champion" strong. Since Alain is a well-written character, he made it to Leon, but ultimately lost because, well... That's the world-fucking-champion. Alain may be good, but he's not 'undefeated-for-his-entire-career' and 'held-the-world-champion-title-for-years' strong. Against something like that, a well-written character is bound to lose.
Which is precisely why they couldn't let Alain face Ash in the masters 8. He would have defeated Ash easily by cancelling out Ash's poor writing cheats.
