It's a shame all the gift mons X/Y gives poisoned the well of what I think is one of its best quality: Being able to make pretty varied teams on repeat playthroughs. A lot of single stage Pokémon or often neglected Pokémon are available fairly early on the Adventure, like before Level 20. It's far from redeeming X/Y in its entirety, but it's something i've come to appreciate.
