>>36341611Only power stuff up when necessary, and that you will actually use. E.g. for a relevant raid boss or future raid bosses, to fill a gap in your roster like missing a fire type attacker.
Know when to make use of premium items.
E.g. use star pieces during 3x stardust community days, they crank up the encounter rates for these anyway.
Hatch lots of eggs. You receive a lot of stardust just for hatching a 10k egg. Of course that means buying lots of incubators, you don't have to. Keep in mind the upcoming global challenge will unlock bonus stardust gains for like a week.
Don't power stuff up further than necessary. Pokémon hit 85% of their CP cap at level 30, it only costs 75k to get from 20 (57% cap) to 30.
But it costs 150k from 30 to 40 for that 15% gain.
Also keep in mind you get half-returns when powering up past 30.
Basically you can power up three Pokémon to a resource-optimal level 30, or a single Pokémon up to level 40 where it's not as important.
The big one though is just idling with a Go Plus or Gotcha. If you happen to work or live somewhere near Poké Stops and spawn points, leaving the Go Plus to do everything for several hours will net you a lot of stardust.
Also if you want you can focus on getting lucky Pokémon in trades, strike agreements with friends in the community that you're looking for X Pokémon to try and get one lucky.
