>>18144506I understand your premise, but I think it misses the point. The only person you're challenging her is yourself, however harsh or lenient that means you'll be. If you are going to run through the game with just your Starter pokemon, you are probably going to win. The same in a non-nuzlocke run, because if you just overlevel your Starter its probably going to crush any opposition.
But why do it? That's not challenging. You're not going to feel like you accomplished anything if you start out with the mindset "If I overlevel my starter, I'll beat everything" and then do just that.
Since you ask, I think that the 'correct" way of Nuzlocking just means sticking to the spirit of the challenge. What are the rules? Catch the first Pokemon of every route, and only that Pokemon. Don't use Pokemon that have fainted.
So use the Pokemon you catch. Take these weak little shitmons and turn them into something great. And if they fall, remember them. Take up the next shitmon in your box, or on the next route, and turn them into legends (at least in your own mind). "Winning" the Nuzlocke was never the point. Journey, Important, Destination, etc, etc, I'm sure you've heard it all before.
