Red is a stoic battling prodigy. He doesnt dislike people as such, it honestly just never occurs to him that he could come down from the mountain when he could stay up there and train. Blue, and more recently Ethan, are the only semi regular visitors he has.
Fortunately, in recent times he's left his self imposed seclusion to join in the World Tournament, after Blue told him about it.
Speaking of Blue, he travels a lot, to the extent that he neglects his gym and may very well relinquish it to someone else. He's always on the lookout for new pokemon to fine tune his line up.
Ethan is hot headed and rambunctious and tends to prioritize power over technique when it comes to battling. It works for him though, he's even got a win over Red, though rematches can go either way.

Lucas is kind of a blue blood, his dad has some real money to his name and its rubbed off on him a bit. He's mostly not a dick about it, but he prefers the finer things in life and he's the most likely to grow out of being a trainer and relegate it to a hobby while getting a "real job".
Dawn is the outgoing, ultra popular queen bee type. She can be pretentious and self absorbed, but is passionate about both training and coordinating and excels in both. Also, while she can be bitchy in every day life, she always has a kind word for other trainers, especially those starting out, and always encourages those she defeats in contests and battles. She also wears g-strings all the time.
