I skipped Hoenn and started with the Gen 1 remakes; I came back to pokemon in gen 4 with Pokemon Platinum when one of my friends brought me to the series and showed me his the one that stands out was Gallade. But, when I played Platinum when I evolved Kirlia, I was disappointed that I later found out from my friend that it was male-exclusive, and I was stuck with a Gardevoir and then in on my playthrough. She carried the team and did well for a psychic type and reminds me of my Kadabra in my first FireRed playthrough. Later in the years, I started to like pokemon lore and reading dex entries and begin to prefer Gardevoir for its lore, design, and battle prowess. If the pokemon world was real, I prefer to be safe than sorry in my journey.
