Based on the American Bald Eagle, known for being a symbol of strength and freedom. Beyond that, it's pokedex entry says alot about how they're brave warriors and how they consider their scars as badges of honor.

Based on the Japanese Oni, which is a ogre that can wield lightning. Onis are known for their superhuman strength and vicious demeanor. Other Onis in the series are Fighting type, like Sawk and Throh.
>Golisopod
Partly based on a Japanese Samurai. It even shown in the anime fighting like a Samurai, using water as katanas to strike his opponents. Samurais are warriors, like other Swordsmen, and I already established that swordsmen fit the Fighting type genre.
