Attract (and Cute Charm) being able to work regardless of gender but having a lower chance to hit/immobilization by love would probably be a better implementation than what it has right now, though it'd become the hot new stallfergeant strategy. It might be enough to push Omgon into just banning it, which would probably be for the better.
As for alternative gender options, much to the chagrin of what I can guess is half of this site's userbase, I actually support this idea for the player character. Gen 7's "what's your appearance" approach to PC gender and skin colour means that implementing this would be a pretty simple matter, and the series has actually had an androgynous PC before in Magikarp Jump. What I'd REALLY like to see, though, is for Pokémon to take the Animal Crossing approach to gendered clothing. Male Gardevoir have been wearing dresses for so long that their debut games are old enough to drive.
My post is basically a "what if" because Game Freak is WAY too Japanese to probably ever consider any of this, but it's my two cents. Feel free to flame me, folks!~
