Psychic isn't a GOOD typing, but it's not outright BAD, either. It's not paired with anything that gives it really common 4x weaknesses.
The thing about Mew is that it can perform all of those roles adequately, unlike Smeargle. Smeargle has paper thing defenses, Mew actually has good defenses.
Mew can also perform other roles besides those already mentioned. It can do almost anything, which makes it very unpredictable, unless you're blatantly using an entire Baton Pass team.
Also Mew is still OU. Look it up. Only one set listed, but as we've already discussed, you can do lots of shit with it.
