>>44439565yeah, but COD is the worst example of trying to insult the yearly franchise model, since it actually works. the devs actually put out good content for the games, and a surprising amount of it, too, for a game that has less than 2 years of development time. just like with pokemon, it has only started to get super cancerous with it's DLC model/less content for more very recently(black ops 4 was like COD's sword and shield, altho the zombies mode was still good, albeit had more cut corners than rest and ended the 10 year old story on a remake of a 10 year old map, not a brand new one)
Fifa any given 2K games are a much better example of a yearly franchise that has been milked to death, since they literally just an online casino with a sports gamed themed mingame, at this point(and the new games just have roster changes, COD is a genuine new game every year)
