I was watching a video the other day of a ~10 year old kid trying to name all the pokemon, and it was interesting to see how much /vp/'s opinion differs from the target demographic. One thing I distinctly remember is she said Blipbug looks "cute and I want him at my birthday party". Maybe Gamefreak isn't getting lazy, they're just giving the kids what they want.
