I don't think there's anything wrong with girls liking girly Pokemon, whether it's cute (like Togekiss or Dragonite) or feminine (like Lapras, Sylveon, Braixen). People are drawn to things they can relate to in some way.
>Badass, sophisticated mafia look Honchkrow has going on
>Quagsire's a total chill bro who'd relax with you and hang out anytime
>Salamence is a tough-ass motherfucker who evolved wings out of SHEER WILLPOWER he's not taking any of your shit
>Gardevoir looks soft and elegant and a loyal empath would always be there for me and love me
>or whatever else floats your boat.
It's no different if it's "I like that something cute can be a complete shitstomper" or whatever.
In the case of my favourite, part of the reason I dig it is because it strikes me as having a lot of feminine strength, instead of just Conkeldurr-Terrakion-Machamp manly muscles kind of strength, and I like that.
>Overcoming the heart-rending loss and loneliness of somebody it loves being gone
>Turning the things they left behind for it into a source of strength, growing into someone whole and fierce as it becomes a part of them
>Overwhelming selfless, motherly love inspiring it to fight to the death even in impossible odds for the sake of its baby
>Never even hesitating to sacrifice, even with full knowledge of what it'll cost.
>A love so powerful that its bones go on to become its baby's shield and sword, ensuring it can protect the one most dear to it even after it's got nothing left to give
