And if it was going to be asymmetrical anyway, then having the "good" half face the battle and the "evil" half look at the trainer was even dumber. Then you get into the design problem of why you'd ever want to be treated with a dopey-looking front sprite when looking at the back sprite. In the end, I'm kinda glad they said "screw it" and gave us a Chain Chomp cameo instead.
